Sean Costello was a very talented 28 year old who could play and sing the blues with great skill. He just released his fifth cd "We Can Get Together" on Feb. 19, 2008. This has really shaken me up because Monday night (April 14) I interview Sean Costello. Tuesday night I recieved an email from his manager that Sean had past away a few hours after I had talked to him. The interview seemed so pointless in hind site. Sean had so little time and it was being spent talking to a stranger about his music. We all need to think about how we use the time we have here on Earth. Before we carry on would you please take a minute to pray for Sean Costello's family, friends, and band mates that God would help them through this pain they must be suffering from the lost of a family member or close friend.nbsp; nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;* nbsp; nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp; * Sean Costello got his first guitar for his ninth birthday. It wasn't till he was eleven or twelve that he started getting serious with the guitar after hearing a Howlin' Wolf record. At that point Sean said he wanted to be like Hubert Sumlin the guitarist for Howlin' Wolf"s band. While still in high school Sean represented Memphis in the International Blues Challenge in 1994. After the International Blues Challenge he got a manager and put together his own band to tour the region on weekends. Sean made his first cd when he was seventeen years old called Call the Cops (1996). Half of the songs were written by Sean the other half are by old blues artists. Songs like "One More Chance With You" by Little Walter, "Take a Walk With Me" by Robert Lockwood Jr., "Sail On" and "She Was a Dreamer" by Sonny Boy Williamson and "Sit Down Baby" by Willie Dixon. Sean really knew the old masters and loved their music. This is a very mature cd for a seventeen year old to be making. Susan Tedeschi asked Sean to play lead guitar on her first cd "Just Won't Burn". The cd went gold and Sean went on tour with her for a about a year and a half. His 2nd cd Cuttin' In was released in 2001. This cd also has the Chicago Blues style to it with well chosen songs by Sonny Boy Williamson, Willie Dixon, Otis Rush and Little Walter. Sean's voice is more mature and his own songs are being added to the cd. Sean was nominated for a W.C. Handy Award for "Best New Artist Debut." in 2000. Now Sean was touring the US, Canada, and Europe under his own name. This cd really got a lot of people in the blues community interested in this new young blues man. In 2001 Sean released Moanin' for Molasses which went a little more towards the soul side than just straight Chicago Blues. 2004 brought his self titled cd that had a bigger budget and more variety of musical styles like Bob Dylan's "Simple Twist of Fate", Al green's "I'm A Ram" and Sean's own songs. There is a jazz ballad, gospel, soul, R and B even a funk song. Still the songs sound real good and were well recieved even though his record company at the time barely promoted the cd. nbsp;Joe Pitts Band is lead by the very talented guitarist, songwriter, and vocalist Joe Pitts. Joe grew up listening to a very eclectic group of records of his sister's. Joe said it was not uncommon for him to listen to Miles Davis, John Coltrane, Johnny Cash, Allman Brothers, Jimi Hendrix and Cream. In Little Rock, Arkansas there was the radio show called Beaker Street with Clyde Clifford that only played the deep cuts (LP tracks) not the pop hits. Joe was getting to hear bands like Ten Years After, Wishbone Ash, Charlie Daniels, Free, and The Outlaws. nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;* When Joe heard the first Led Zeppelin record he knew he had heard this before, not that same way but, it was familiar. Turns out those records his sister had included old 78's of Sun House, Big Bill Bryson, Muddy Waters, Skip James, and Ella Fitzgerald. Ever since he was a kid he had heard these records. Now bands like Led Zeppelin, Cream, Blind Faith, and others were more of a revved up sound which Joe really liked. Joe already liked the blues but, now it had even more power. nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;* nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp; nbsp; nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp; * Joe Pitts started playing guitar when he was only six years old. His hand would not even reach around the neck to fret the guitar. Having seen guitarist on TV playing guitar on their lap with a bar gave him the idea to play the guitar that way. Not many guitarist can say they played slide guitarist first but Joe did.nbsp; nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;* The Allman Brothers Band and in particular Duane Allman really stuck with young Joe. One time Joe's sister wanted to go to a concert but her dad would only let her go if she dragged her little brother along so, in 1971 Joe got to see The Allman Brothers. Now this is not The Allman Brothers you and I have seen, this was the real Allman Brothers back when Duane Allman and Berry Oakley (bass) were still alive. Joe said the lights went out and he could feel the presence of Duane Allman coming on stage. Joe always talks about Duane Allman with such reverence and love for both the man and his music. nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp; nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp; *nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp; nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbs... read less

nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp; Buck69 has a cd called "When She Whispers Your Name". It is Blues Rock with flavors of Jazz, R and B, Southern Rock even some Funk. The only thing this cd does not have is a boring song. Every song is an A1 first class track. "Cold Wind" was the first song I heard by Buck69, it was playing at their website. The very first thing I thought of was The Allman Brothers back when they were doing "Live at Fillmore East" and "Eat a Peach". That sweet guitar sound of Duane Allman and Dickey Betts is much like what Buzz Anderson does with his guitar on "Cold Wind". It's not just Buzz though, it's the whole band. The mood is set just right and the feel is there. Dave Alan lays down a simple but important drum beat just enough to move you along. The rhythm guitar is gentle and the vocals are not overpowering. With the musicianship Buck69 has they could easily over play this song but they don't. They all work together to make the song shine. Now we have all heard bands try to sound like The Allman Brothers and some like Buck69 do a great job of it. This is just one of the many lovely faces of Buck69. Tom Clawson the lead singer/songwriter/visionary wonted the cd "When She Whispers Your Name" not to have every song sound the same. Tom did a great job of that because the other songs do not sound like the Allman Brothers they have there own style. Most of the songs are grounded in Blues and Blues Rock but from there they can go anywhere (as before stated Jazz, R and B, Funk). nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp; nbsp;nbsp;nbsp; nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp; When first playing the cd I was amazed how I could get into every song the very first time. That first weekend I played Buck69 over and over again, at first to get to know it better, then later because there was nothing I'd rather hear. nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp; Tom Clawson was playing guitar back in the seventies in bars and hitchhiked around the country. After getting out of the military he got a degree in business management and raised a family. Years latter his son Alex wanted them to start a band. So Tom hand picked all the musicians from other bands to do this cd. There is a total of eight musicians in this band, each one is a professional in their field. Tom wrote most of the songs and paid to have the cd made. When Tom took the cd to Sony they told him it was to eclectic, they could not place it neatly in one category. So he went out on his own to sell the cd. At this point the cd is being bought and played on radio stations around the world. nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp; nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp; nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp; nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp; Fr... read less
